Several big name players have moved to Japan in recent times to continue their club career and Fernando Torres was one of those big name players. He is one of many popular Spanish players who have played in the Japanese top flight in the last five years. Apart from Torres, other Spanish international stars like David Villa and Andres Iniesta also moved to Japan.

Popular non-Spanish players like Belgian international Thomas Vermaelen and German international Lukas Podolski have also played in the Japanese league in the last few years.

Fernando Torres signed for Sagan Tosu in the Japanese top flight in 2018 and he went on to score hisfirst goal in the Emperor’s Cup. He found the back of net in the fourth round win over. He has been linked with several teams in Spain and outside Spain since the post.
