CHELSEA HAPPY TO SELL?

Fernando Torres has reportedly been made available and offered to rival European clubs for as little as 20 million pounds, with Chelsea willing to take a massive loss on a player that just hasn’t clicked since his £50m arrival last January.

Chelsea coach Andre Villas-Boas has given the Spaniard his chance, but with a lack of goals in recent games, is keen to get another striker in instead.  There was talk of Torres leaving the club on loan, but the Portuguese manager has decided he needs to sell Torres in order to fund some more player purchases.

Torres’s performances at Stamford Bridge have not been great, with the formerly deadly striker managing to score a total of just three league goals. Though with the arrival of Juan Mata things looked startied to look like they might be coming together for Fernando, with goals against both Swansea and Manchester United, he has struggled to score since.

It looks as though Didier Drogba and Daniel Sturridge have moved ahead of him in the pecking order, which means he probably won’t even be on the bench against Manchester City. The situation has become so dire that one online football betting site is offering good odds on Torres never to score for Chelsea again.

If Fernando Torres moves on it might help him into new phase of form, and a fresh beginning, which could prove to be a blessing for the player after his repeated Chelsea failures.
